Leola Anifowoshe: Best Hair Loss Specialist in Houston of 2026
Best of Best Review proudly recognizes Dr. Leola Anifowoshe, PhD, as the Best Hair Loss Specialist in Houston of 2026, honoring her more than 25 years of work in hair and scalp wellness and her distinctive approach to understanding why an individual's hair may be changing.
Known as The Hair Loss Detective™, Dr. Leola has built her work around a simple but meaningful philosophy: “We Don’t Guess, We Test™.” Rather than treating every case of hair loss as though it has the same explanation, she encourages people to look more closely at the individual factors that may be connected to their hair and scalp concerns.

Challenging the One Size Fits All Approach
Hair loss can be frustrating precisely because there is rarely one explanation that fits every person. Someone may notice increased shedding during a stressful period, while another person may experience changes alongside menopause, hormonal shifts, medications, nutrition concerns, rapid weight loss or styling practices.
Dr. Leola's investigative approach begins with a different question. Instead of immediately asking what product someone should purchase, she asks why the hair is changing in the first place.
“Hair loss is not one problem with one cause, so it should never be approached as though everyone needs the same solution,” she explains.
This perspective has become central to her work at Texas Hair Restoration & Wellness Center in Houston, where she helps women and men navigate complex hair and scalp concerns through personalized education, investigation and restoration support.
The Hair Loss Detective™ Philosophy
The title The Hair Loss Detective™ reflects more than a memorable name. It captures Dr. Leola's determination to look beyond commonly repeated explanations and examine the bigger picture surrounding an individual's hair concerns.
Consumers today encounter countless claims about hair loss. Genetics, hormones, menopause, stress, medications, nutrition and other factors are frequently presented as straightforward answers. Dr. Leola believes consumers deserve a more thoughtful conversation.
Her approach is grounded in asking better questions and considering the individual's history and circumstances rather than automatically applying a blanket explanation.
“Sometimes progress begins by questioning what everybody else has accepted as the answer,” says Dr. Leola.
More Than 25 Years of Experience
Dr. Leola brings more than 25 years of experience in the hair and scalp wellness field to her work. Her background combines professional experience, education and a strong interest in helping consumers better understand the complex subject of hair loss.
She holds a PhD in Organizational Leadership & Development, has completed executive education at Harvard Medical School and is a member of the World Trichology Society.
Her work also reflects an ongoing commitment to education. Rather than limiting her role to the treatment environment, Dr. Leola has continued developing ways to help consumers understand hair and scalp topics in accessible language.
Serving Clients Beyond Houston
Although Texas Hair Restoration & Wellness Center is based in Houston, Dr. Leola's work extends beyond the local community through the center's nationwide Distance Treatment Program.
The program allows people who cannot travel to Houston to access her investigative approach, education and personalized hair restoration support remotely. This broader reach reflects her belief that people dealing with hair loss should have opportunities to seek informed guidance regardless of where they live.
For someone asking why their part is widening, why their edges are becoming thinner or why they are suddenly experiencing increased shedding, access to an individualized approach can be an important part of beginning the conversation.
Exploring Today's Hair Loss Questions
Dr. Leola's work increasingly addresses questions surrounding some of the most discussed hair loss concerns today. These include GLP 1 associated shedding, menopause and HRT related hair changes, nutrition, stress and concerns affecting Black women.
Her approach is not to assume that one factor automatically explains every case. Instead, she encourages consumers to understand that hair changes can be influenced by multiple circumstances and that individual investigation matters.
That philosophy is particularly relevant in an environment where consumers can easily become overwhelmed by conflicting information. Dr. Leola's work seeks to replace some of that confusion with education, thoughtful questioning and a closer look at the individual.
Expanding Her Educational Mission
In 2026, Dr. Leola expanded her consumer education work by founding Trichology Today®, an independent monthly consumer publication dedicated to answering the hair and scalp questions people are actually asking.
As Founder, Publisher and Managing Editor, she is extending her mission beyond individual consultations and treatment support. The publication provides another platform for challenging conventional thinking and making hair loss information easier for everyday consumers to understand.
Her larger goal is to change the way people approach hair loss. Instead of beginning with, “What should I buy?” she wants consumers to begin with, “Why is this happening?”
